To answer the skyrocketing demand for core communications services in the West African countries of Gambia and Guinea, NewCom has stepped into the role of the primary service provider for governments and ISPs in these fast developing countries. Working in conjunction with Global Voice, we are providing both Internet access and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to PPTs Gamtel (Gambia) and Sotelgui (Guinea Conakry) , giving businesses, schools and governments a way to communicate through voice and data. New SATPath Technology Offers Alternative Solution for Non-US Based Businesses

NewCom recently unveiled its new SATPath technology in Nigeria, giving Nigeria PTT MTEL a powerful new communications solution to market to the country's governments and businesses. Unlike traditional Star-based satellite solutions that require communication with our Miami-based satellite hub, SATPath uses mesh topology that enables primary businesses to communicate directly with remote locations through satellite links without transmitting to the U.S. satellite hub. NewCom Assists Angola Hospital with Free Satellite Service

For the second year in a row, NewCom is donating a full year's worth of high-speed, C-band satellite Internet service to a recently constructed teaching hospital in Lubango, Angola. The Evangelical Medical Center, located in the southwest corner of the country, is the only one of its kind in the region. The hospital relies heavily on the VoIP and Internet services donated by NewCom and other communications companies to provide continuing medial education to Angola's doctors, as well as access to specialist consultations. Eventually, the communications services will also provide remote diagnostic support such as digital X-rays and video transmission.

“This is a fine example of NewCom's public service – both in terms of their generosity and the excellent service they provide,” notes The IT Department President Norman G. Henderson, whose company oversees the communications services donated to the charity hospital. “In turn (for the communications services received), doctors in Lubango will be able to provide better support to rural clinics throughout southern Angola, where medical care is nearly non-existent.”
