NetSharing iDirect HUB Unveils Version 8.02

NewCom International has successfully upgraded and stabilized the latest iDirect software platform to guarantee an enriched customer experience. The upgraded software platform includes support for iDirect's Mesh Topology, and for BPSK and 8PSK modulation, along with new FEC rates for better bandwidth efficiency. Also provided is Global NMS which allows global roaming remote management coupled with automatic beam switching and geographical mapping. With the upgraded software, thanks to CRC correlation features, it is easy to isolate and adjust problematic remote sites without affecting their network. Also offered is enhanced QoS that facilitates diverse contention ratio and group QoS implementations.

New iDirect IP Traffic Utilization Graphs

Thanks to the advanced features of our upgraded iDirect software platform, we now offer advanced real-time, by-the-minute IP traffic utilization graphs to our NetSharing customers who only previously had this option with the purchase of a complete CNO license (over $2,000 retail value). Access to the new IP graphs costs a one-time only $100 fee per remote and shows IP traffic utilization identified by TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, GRE, OTHER and Total.

New Products Expand NewCom’s Communications Footprint

In addition to our industry-leading products and services, we are pleased to announce three new products to our portfolio that will make NewCom’s satellite communications better, faster and more complete.

SatFax
SatFax provides one solution for voice and fax in a cellular area or someplace where satellite communications is a must. Unlike traditional Internet faxing, SatFax is not affected by latency, jitter or packet loss. The Fax Terminal Adaptor (FTA) mimics a dial tone of the receiving fax machine, and then receives the fax from the sending machine. The fax is converted into a data transmission and the information is then sent to the SatFax servers. The SatFax servers convert the data into a standard fax transmission. The information is then sent to the destination fax over the Public switch telephone network.

SecureSat
Secure satellite communications are crucial for certain applications such as secure transactions in industries like finance and government. Ordinary VPN products lack the required considerations for satellite communications where encryption wraps the original TCP packet up in a VPN frame, and can therefore no longer be accelerated. The performance slows to approximately 100 Kbps per session regardless of available bandwidth. SecureSat solves this problem and lets you burst encrypted traffic to your full configured Maximum Information Rate.

SafeAccess
NewCom's SafeAccess managed service is fundamental for corporate networks and cybercafés that require optimized browsing experience while providing firewall security, intrusion detection and prevention for their end users. Our SafeAccess solution shares any existing Internet access with your Local Area Network, caching web, DNS, and FTP traffic, as well as Windows Updates; all the while protecting your network from known viruses, spam and spyware.

Failover HUB Backup

NewCom now provides iDirect Hub Geographic Redundancy service for large networks. NewCom can define your network configuration in both our primary and backup teleports. All remotes are configured as roaming remotes. During normal, non-failure operations carrier transmission is muted on the backup teleport. During failover conditions the operator can manually un-mute the downstream transmission on the backup teleport. This enables the remotes to automatically acquire the downstream transmission through the backup teleport NMS after the configured default wait interval of just five minutes.

Expanded Video Services

NewCom International has partner with Aldea Vision, an innovative provider of video broadcast networking services and solutions for broadcasters, telecommunications carriers, and media companies in Latin America and the world over. With our combined infrastructure we offer occasional use for real-time video transmissions with access to play-out and studio facilities, SNG, field production and hundreds of video connections. Each is available on an ad-hoc basis with NewCom teleport downlink services.
